Direct connect (free)

Traffic goes phone ↔ Agent only. No official Remux_NAT servers. Always free.

1. Same Wi‑Fi / LAN

  1. Start the Agent on your PC. Note the QR or the LAN IP shown in the tray.
  2. Phone on the same network.
  3. In the App: Scan the direct QR, or Manual entry with host = LAN IP, port 9876, token from Agent.

Guest Wi‑Fi isolation can block phone→PC. Use the main LAN or a mesh VPN.

2. Tailscale / mesh VPN

  1. Install Tailscale (or ZeroTier, Netbird, Headscale, …) on both PC and phone.
  2. Use the PC’s mesh IP (Tailscale often 100.x.y.z) as host in Manual entry, or regenerate QR if the Agent advertises that address.
  3. Port still 9876 unless you changed Agent config; token unchanged.

3. DDNS / public hostname

  1. Point a DNS name at your PC (or a port-forwarded gateway).
  2. Forward TCP 9876 (or your chosen port) to the Agent host. Prefer TLS if exposed to the internet.
  3. App Manual entry: hostname, port, token. Enable TLS if you terminate TLS in front of the Agent.

Exposing the Agent to the open internet increases risk. Prefer Tailscale or a self-hosted relay over raw port-forward when possible.

4. When direct is not enough

Phone on cellular, PC behind CGNAT, no mesh VPN, no port-forward → use official Remux_NAT (trial/subscription in App) or self-host remux-relay.
